Well, now she's talking.

All For One Theater, in association with Jami Floyd, presents a new solo play about our complicity in oppressive systems intended to keep us silent.

This intimate, confessional story examines long-seated issues of privilege and complicity at the core of America, as well as our current and explosive political moment. Jack Was Kind gives an imagined and painfully human backstory to an actual, American event that will affect the country for generations to come.

Each performance will be immediately followed by a discussion with the playwright and a guest on complicity in American power structures.

Danny is suffering from micro-blackouts and Julia keeps seeing a giant bird in her backyard. Is anyone watching their kid? This romantic comedy for a toxic world by 2019 AFO Artist In Residence Lizzie Vieh comes alive with biting humor and blinding insight.

One hundred years from now, a race of Hip Hop androids known as Brobots will form a unit, The Tribe Called Space Quest, to spread their message of peace, love, and dopeness all over the universe. Through live looped vocals, rhymes, and beat-boxing, they perform the origin story of the first of their kind. They call it The Brobot Johnson Experience, a sci-fi hip hop solo concert that defies both space and time.

SQUEAMISH is the tale of an Upper West Side psychoanalyst and recovering alcoholic with a debilitating fear of blood. Distraught after her nephew’s sudden death, she finds herself off her meds in her hometown of Lubbock, Texas trying to reclaim her sanity. She’s led to what seems like a miracle cure for depression in an underground naturalistic practice of ingesting the very thing she’s afraid of - but her newfound clarity only leads her to horrifying revelations.

In AFO’s first collaboration with 59E59 Theaters, we present award-winning UK comedian Mark Thomas as he tells the true story of how he discovered a good friend and fellow activist was actually a mole sent by Britain’s biggest arms manufacturer, BAE Systems, to spy on the comedian. Using interviews from friends, colleagues, activists and journalists, CUCKOOED is a personal and timely tale on the impact of betrayal, unearthing what it means to be spied upon by a corporation under the sanction of the state.

Transferring intact from the UK where it has been presented to sold-out houses at the Traverse Theatre as part of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, The Tricycle Theatre, The Brighton Dome, and more.
